Italy defeated its rival Turkey today, Friday, in the opening matches of Euro 2020 by 3-0 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome in the first group competitions.
“In the first half we were good even though we didn’t score,” Mancini said after the match.
He added, “The match was not easy, the opening matches are always difficult, but the tactical matters helped us today. The fans supported us a lot, and the team today performed a distinguished performance.”
And about the change in the Italian team’s performance in the second half, he said: “We became decisive when we played fast football. Italy played an important match. It was important to play well and satisfy the fans.”
Mancini concluded, “It was a special evening and we hope that the next evenings will be like it, this is just a first step, there are six matches left to reach Wembley.”
The final of the tournament will be held at Wembley Stadium in England, as the tournament will be held in 11 countries.
