FaceTime is coming to PCs and Android devices via a web app

The iOS 15 update will arrive later this year and bring with it some significant FaceTime upgrades, Apple previewed at WWDC 2021 today.

One of the biggest features is that Facetime will work with Android and Windows 10 PCs thanks to the new shareable links that Apple will let you send to your friends and family. This same feature will also allow you to schedule calls with your contacts by sending them an invitation link in advance.

Among the other features that will be introduced to FaceTime is a new network interface that supports spatial audio to make the experience of talking to someone more immersive.

Moreover, there is a feature called “Portrait Mode” that will blur the background during video calls, and also a new function that allows you to select the sound that your iPhone’s microphone picks up so you will be able to choose between your voice only or surrounding sounds as well.

Apple is also expanding FaceTime with a new feature called SharePlay, which will allow you and multiple other people to watch or listen to the same TV show, movie, or song simultaneously. And this feature is supported by some streaming apps including Disney+, HBO Max, and Twitch. Of course, it will also work with Apple Music and Apple TV.
