Comoros national football team arrives in Doha to face Palestine in the Arab Cup qualifiers

The Comoros team arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, from France, to face the Palestine team, Thursday evening, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, in the qualifiers for the Arab Cup finals (Qatar 2021).

Upon its arrival at Hamad International Airport yesterday evening, Monday, the mission was received by members of the Local Organizing Committee, as all its members, upon their arrival, underwent a smear to detect the new Corona virus before moving to the residence to enter a health bubble that continues until the departure time after the match.

The squad included 21 players: Moayad Qossini, Mahmoud Mofeli, Omar Vardy, Hakim Dagaha, Hiam Ibrahim, Qassem Ahmeda, Alawi Abdullah, Salem Ali, Nassim Ali, Fakira Ahmed Hassani, Fouaz Fadini, Ankoub Ali, Abdel Rahim Munia, Shadhuly Merbadabi, Zidou Soleihi, Lafti Daoud, Mohamed Youssef, Gamal Anwar and Ibra and Muhammad Machangama.

The Comoros team, nicknamed “Gambeza”, is looking forward to achieving the first historic achievement of the Arab Cup finals by bypassing the Palestine team and qualifying for the third group, which includes Morocco and Saudi Arabia along with the qualified Jordanian team at the expense of South Sudan by a decision of FIFA.

Last March, the Comoros team made its first appearance in the next edition of the African Nations Cup, which will be held in Cameroon early next year, and therefore the Arab Cup will be the perfect preparation for the African Championship for it.
