Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Clippers suffered a blow to star Kawhi Lenader in his right knee, which will prevent him from participating Wednesday in the fifth game against the Utah Jazz of the Western Conference semi-final series of the NBA Playoffs.
The Clippers announced that Leonard, who won the league title in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs and 2019 with the Toronto Raptors, twisted his right knee during Monday’s match, in which his team tied Series 2 2, which will prevent him from participating in the fifth game scheduled in Salt Lake City.
There is no set time for the star’s return
And American media reported that the 29-year-old may miss the rest of the matches in this series (the team that precedes his opponent to win four out of seven possible matches qualifies for the next round), at a time when the Clippers indicated that there is no “specific time” for the return of his star.
Kawahi’s absence is a severe blow to the Clippers and their ambition to reach the Western Region final for the first time in their history, especially as he played the main role in bringing him back to the atmosphere of this series that the team started by losing the first two games against the best record holder in the regular season.
