CAF announces the dates of the new season of the African Champions League

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today, Tuesday, the date for the start of the next season of club competitions, in addition to some matters related to matches. “CAF” said in a statement on its official website, that “the new season of club championships will start on September 10, with the first preliminary round of the Champions League and Confederation Cup,” stressing that “the group stage will start in February 2022.”

He stressed that “the rule of five substitutions has been extended for the 2021/2022 season, and accordingly, each club will be allowed to register 40 players instead of 30 as usual, and there will be 9 players on the bench instead of 7, which is the usual number.” He announced, “The start of the group stage stage will be in February 2022, while the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be in April and May 2022, with the final from 22 to 29 May 2022.”

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the final match of the African Champions League season 2020-2021 will be held in Morocco, on July 17, according to what was published on its official “afrik-foot” website.
