The Brazilian national team, led by its star Neymar, the Paris Saint-Germain player, managed to equalize its best start in the World Cup qualifiers, after its valuable victory over its host Paraguay with a clean double, in the meeting that brought them together in the early hours of Wednesday morning, at the stadium “Defensores del Chaco”, in the eighth round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Brazil won its sixth consecutive victory in the South American qualifiers for the World Cup Qatar 2022, after beating its host Paraguay by a clean double, to equalize with the Seleção team in the 1970 World Cup qualifiers.
The Seleção team also managed to end a 36-year decade by not winning in Paraguay, since winning a clean double in 1985 in the World Cup qualifiers as well.
Brazil coach Tite achieved the longest unbeaten streak for a coach in the South American qualifiers in 18 consecutive matches with Brazil (16 wins and 2 draws).
And Neymar equaled the best scorer for the Brazilian national team in the World Cup qualifiers, with 11 goals, equal to Zico and Romario.
Paraguay vs Brazil
Brazil ended the first half superior to a goal scored by Neymar, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, after receiving a cross from Gabriel Jesus to hit the right of the Paraguayan goalkeeper.
In the second half, Lucas Paqueta, the French player of Lyon, added the second goal of the Seleção team in the third minute of stoppage time after receiving a pass from Neymar, and he shot it crawling to the right of the Paraguayan goalkeeper.
Brazil strengthened its lead in the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, with 18 points, 6 points ahead of its closest rivals, Argentina, the runner-up with 12 points, while Paraguay’s balance stopped at 7 points in sixth place.
The samba team won its last match against its guest, Ecuador, with a clean double, while Paraguay drew 0-0 with its host, Uruguay.
