His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, visited today the training session of the Saudi national under-23 team, at the opening of its preparatory camp in Riyadh, which was held within the framework of the fifth phase of the preparation program for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
His Highness met with the players of “Al-Akhdar” before the start of the training session, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser Al-Mishal, and conveyed at the beginning of the meeting the greetings of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, praising the great focus and high spirit shown by him. The players during the preparation stages for the Olympics, and wished the team success in its matches in the Olympic Games.
Prince Fahd bin Jalawi stressed the importance of Al-Akhdar’s historic participation and the doubling of work for the honorable appearance of Saudi football.
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser Al-Mishal, thanked and appreciated the Vice-President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, for his support and follow-up to the team in preparation for the Olympics, stressing that everyone is working to achieve more achievements in the name of Saudi football.
Al-Mishal commended the continuous follow-up of His Highness the Minister of Sports, stressing that this interest comes within his keenness to follow up on all Saudi teams.
On the field level, the players of the national team performed their training session today, at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, under the supervision of technical director Saad Al-Shehri and the assistant technical staff, during which they applied preventive exercises, followed by an entertaining training, to conclude the training session with a training that came in 3 parts, 10 minutes for each part. with a view to endurance.
The team will continue its training tomorrow, Friday, at 7:00 pm at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, in a training session open to the media.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi U-23 team is in Group D in the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020), along with the teams of Brazil, Germany and Ivory Coast.
