Later this year, Apple will begin updating tvOS, M1 Macs, AirPods Pro and Max headphones with the spatial audio feature announced during WWDC 2021.

Apple’s new spatial audio feature allows users to experience Dolby Atmos’ omni-directional audio that does not need to work with a special audio system and also without disturbing the people in the user’s surroundings.

The spatial audio feature has been among the features that Apple TV users have been asking for for some time, and Apple confirmed during its developer conference the expansion of the spatial audio feature to include the FaceTime camera through the iOS 15 update.

Apple confirms that the feature will support users with an immersive and natural audio experience in conversations with friends and family, and Apple now offers in Apple Music the Dolby Atmos spatial audio feature, which is available to users at no additional cost in the service.
