Praise and attack
Barcelona star Jordi Alba did not hide his dissatisfaction with the departure of Luis Suarez from Barca last season, but he supported him and expressed his happiness by silencing all critics.
Suarez left Barcelona almost free of charge to Atletico Madrid, after coach Ronald Koeman was not convinced of his abilities, as the Dutchman announced to the newspapers.
At the same time, the way the Uruguayan left the Camp Nou was so bad that it angered Lionel Messi himself, and it seems that Alba was among those angry as well.
In an interview with Cadena Ser, the Spain international said, “I did not like it, regardless of the personal relationship with him. Where will we find a striker like him?”
He added, “There are very good players but this is Lewis, he gave us a lot, in the end you decide what you decide and that’s it.”
Alba continued, “I am talking to him, we have a strong friendship, he was happy in Atletico Madrid and managed to win the Spanish League and silenced all critics.”
“It wasn’t easy for him last year at Barcelona, but he had the opportunity to silence mouths and that’s what it was.”
As for the fact that Suarez’s friendship with Messi harmed Barcelona, he said, “They say a lot of atrocities, there are true things and strange things.”
He continued, “Luis with Barcelona was amazing, he is a very hardworking man, the numbers say everything, he is the third most foreign scorer in Barcelona’s history.”
It is worth noting that Suarez scored 21 goals with Atletico Madrid last season in La Liga, and no one from Barcelona has surpassed him except Messi, La Liga top scorer with 30 goals.
