Brazil topped the South American qualifying group for Qatar 2022, after the Brazilian team beat Ecuador, 2-0, in the World Cup qualifiers, in Porto Alegre at dawn today, Saturday.

Everton striker Richarlison scored the lead for the samba team in the 65th minute, with a powerful shot that goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez could not prevent.

Neymar was able to confirm the victory, after scoring a penalty in stoppage time after dropping his colleague Gabriel Jesus, and the referee pointed to the penalty mark after consulting the video assistant referee.

Although Neymar failed in his first attempt, which was saved by Ecuador goalkeeper Dominguez, the referee ordered the kick to be retaken because the goalkeeper advanced from the goal line at the moment of the shot.
