The Saudi Al-Riyadia newspaper confirmed that the Saudi Al-Ittihad club decided the future of its defender Omar Hawsawi, who joined him from Al-Nasr at the beginning of last season, while the Saudi Economic newspaper revealed the latest developments in the file of striker Alexander Prijovic.

Al-Ittihad finished the 2020-2021 season of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Cup for Saudi Professionals in third place to qualify for the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League, and also qualified for the Mohammed VI Cup final for Arab Champions Clubs.

Al-Riyadia newspaper explained that Al-Ittihad and Hawsawi have a desire to continue the relationship between them until next October, the date of the end of the player’s contract with the club, noting that negotiations to renew the contract will begin soon and after the completion of the arrangement of the Federal House and the settlement of some outstanding issues.

Hawsawi, 35, had joined Al-Ittihad on a free transfer deal during the last summer transfer market after the end of his contract with Al-Nasr, and he played with the team 17 games, including 10 mains, as coach Fabio Carelli relied on him to compensate for the absence of any of the main defenders, Ahmed Hegazy and Ziad Al-Sahafi And it is expected that the player will be in the Arab Championship final to replace the suspended Egyptian defender.

What prevents Prigovich from leaving the union?

Al-Ittihad and its coach Fabio Carelli expressed a clear desire to get rid of Prigović after his low level and numbers during his time with the team, and the Serbian striker does not mind leaving Jeddah, but a single obstacle prevents that.

Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper explained that the 31-year-old received two offers during the current summer Mercato, one from the Serbian Red Star and the second from the Greek PAOK, noting that the first includes receiving an annual salary of two million dollars.

She added that Prijovich refused the two offers due to the financial details, as he refuses to receive a salary lower than the one he currently receives from the union, stressing that this is the only thing that prevents him from leaving Jeddah.

And she concluded by noting that the player asked his agent to bring a better offer financially, as he has a strong desire to leave the federation this summer, but on the condition that there is an appropriate financial offer.

What did Prigovich provide with the Union?

Prijović joined the federation in January 2019 and signed a contract that extends for four and a half years. He played 52 matches with the team, during which he scored only 20 goals and made 5 goals.
