14 million people in Saudi Arabia received one dose of the vaccine, and the Saudi Minister of Health, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, told Al Arabiya that the Kingdom’s leadership is keen to provide highly effective vaccines, and added: “We will start giving the second dose of the vaccine if it is available in large quantities.”
At the end of last May, Saudi Arabia announced that 40% of the population had received at least one dose of the Corona vaccine so far, in the context of distributing vaccines to restore normal life and deal with the pandemic.
The Saudi Ministry of Health confirmed that the second dose of the anti-Coronavirus vaccine is available for adults of 60 years or more in all parts of the Kingdom.
A few days ago, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Health for Preventive Health, Abdullah Asiri, revealed that delaying the second dose of the Corona vaccine stimulates immunity better in some vaccines, and there is no need to worry about delaying the second dose for some groups of society for the public good, as the follow-up of immunity levels shows after The first dose of “Covid-19” vaccines indicates that there is no ideal period between the two doses.
And he added in a tweet on his Twitter account: “There are countries that have adopted 3 months between the two doses, and countries that have 4 months before scheduling the second dose, and the epidemiological situation and demographics are the decisive factor.”
