Windows 10 “Sun Valley” will delete the icons of the Windows 95 era

Early in January, we are Reporting In the Valley of the Sun – the upcoming “total visual revamp” for the Windows 10 UI. This week The latest windows New details have leaked about the upcoming transformation: There is a new set of icons C:WindowsSystem32Shell32.dllReplace classic Windows icons dating back to Windows 95.

The changes are surprisingly minor. Most of the new icons are very similar to the old versions that were replaced by about 30 years old. Old icons like floppy disks and floppy drives continue in the new icon set – the visual style is refreshed in these respectable references, but it’s about that.

Ironically, in the case of flexible icons, the device is visible Older. The drives in older icons received design cues from equipment from the current 1990s, but the alternate icons look more like equipment from the late 1970s or early 1980s.

Windows 10 users can expect these and other Sun Valley visual updates to appear on Windows 10 21H2, scheduled for this October. Expect to see lots of rounded corners, file explorer icon improvements, and updates to both the Start menu and the built-in apps alongside the new icons shown here.
