Saudi authorities announce a conviction

Riyadh.

Today, Thursday, the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority in Saudi Arabia reported the conviction of an unidentified “Royal Highness” in a corruption case involving the use of forged educational qualifications.

An official source in the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority stated that the concerned Saudi authorities issued rulings “condemning a royal highness (an employee in the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing) and an officer in a military college affiliated to the Ministry of Defense and an Arab immigrant for the first and second use of forged academic qualifications and their use in Obtaining a government job and the expatriate mediating to obtain these forged qualifications.

The source pointed out that the decision includes “punishing them with imprisonment of the first for two years and a fine of 100,000 riyals, imprisonment of the second for a period of one year and six months and a fine of 50,000 riyals, imprisonment of the third for one year and a fine of 20,000 riyals.”
