The FA Cup loss did not dampen the Chelsea coach’s confidence in his players

London – Reuters
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said he has not lost confidence in his players after losing 1-0 to Leicester City in the FA Cup final, indicating that he will muster his strength for the Champions League qualification battle.
Tuchel led Chelsea to the Champions League final and helped him advance to the Premier League table after taking over from Frank Lampard in January, but he was under pressure after two consecutive defeats.
After the surprise loss from Arsenal last week, Chelsea have 64 points in fourth place, one point ahead of Liverpool with two games remaining.
“This group is strong and there is no reason to doubt the players, and we have made a good effort to advance from the tenth to fourth place, and reach the Federation Cup final and the Champions League final,” the German coach told Chelsea’s website.
He added, “We have enough strength to deal with these situations and challenges. This is not easy, but it is fun, and there are many teams chasing us.”
Chelsea will host third-placed rival Leicester on Tuesday, before visiting Aston Villa on Sunday at the end of the league, while they meet Manchester City in the Champions League final on May 29 in Porto.
