Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in Saudi Arabia announced new precautionary protocols related to men’s barbershops, in the context of confronting the Corona pandemic.
Saudi media reported that Saudi health protocols included that customers are received through prior reservation, and waiting inside the shop must be prohibited, and waiting chairs must be suspended, while working periods are organized and employees are provided flexible schedules.
The Saudi Ministry stressed the necessity of reducing the number of people at all times in implementation of precautionary protocols and social distancing, limiting face-to-face contact with clients, preventing any gathering inside the shop, and preventing the entry of companions by placing awareness posters to limit the increase in the number of people inside the facility.
The Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing required workers in men’s barbershops to wash hands with soap and warm water for a period of not less than 40 seconds between each client, or to disinfect hands with sterilizer for a period of not less than 20 seconds in the absence of soap and water, and to cancel the use of the fingerprint device. And substitute staff preparation by other methods.
