The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia decided to implement an institutional quarantine for all arrivals to the Kingdom, as of May 20.

Today, Monday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted an official source in the Ministry of Interior as saying that “it has been decided to apply institutional quarantine measures to all arrivals to the Kingdom from countries that have not been suspended from coming.”

The source stated that the categories excluded from the institutional quarantine include those coming through the air ports, the following cases:

Male and female citizens, citizen’s wife, citizen husband, sons and daughters of citizenship, and domestic workers accompanying any of the aforementioned groups.

Unvaccinated domestic workers accompanying a fortified resident.

– the immunized ones.

Official delegations.

Those holding a diplomatic visa, diplomats and their families residing with them.

Air Navigation Crews.

Those involved in health supply chains, according to the Ministry of Health.

The lists of groups excluded from institutional quarantine, for those arriving through the land and sea ports, include the following cases:

Male and female citizens, citizen’s wife, citizen husband, sons and daughters of citizenship, and domestic workers accompanying any of the aforementioned groups.

A person whose health condition appears (immunized), and his companions under the age of 18 years.

Those holding a diplomatic visa, and diplomats and their families residing with them.

Crews of marine vessels.

Truck drivers and their assistants from all ports.

Those involved in health supply chains, according to the Ministry of Health.

– The excluded cases, as determined by the concerned authorities.

Excluded from the institutional quarantine will be subject to home quarantine, except for those who are immunized, with an emphasis on the need to obtain a valid health insurance document to cover the risks of the Corona virus approved by the official authorities in the Kingdom, for all those coming to the Kingdom (non-vaccinated).

In a statement, the Public Health Authority (Weqaya) called on all non-citizens coming to the Kingdom who did not complete receiving the approved doses of vaccines in the Kingdom, or 14 days after completing the doses of vaccines approved in the Kingdom, to follow the precautionary measures, and to adhere to the application of procedures Institutional quarantine for the approved period (7 days).

It also called on them to conduct a PCR examination for the Coronavirus on the first and seventh day of arrival, with an emphasis on the need to obtain valid health insurance to cover the risks of Corona in the Kingdom before coming, for the categories described in the health “protocol” for that and published on the website of Weqaya, with the exception of those coming from abroad who reside in the Kingdom, whose status appears as “immunized” in the “Tawakolna” app.

Weqaya also announced that the quarantine will not be applied to the immunized residents and visitors coming to the Kingdom from abroad who have passed 14 days after completing their doses of vaccines approved in the Kingdom, and they are required to submit a PCR examination certificate for the Corona virus for a sample taken within a period of 72 One hour from the date of departure to the Kingdom for those over 8 years old, starting from May 20.

In the same context, the Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation announced that it had directed airlines operating in the Kingdom’s airports to apply the institutional quarantine to travelers, who are not Saudi citizens and excluded groups who are not immunized, and those coming from countries that have not been suspended from coming, at their expense, and will be included in the ticket price with obtaining Have a valid health insurance policy to cover the risks that may result from infection with the Coronavirus.

The authority stressed the necessity for the air carriers to carry Corona examination certificates approved by the airline, with a date not exceeding 72 hours from the flight date for those over 8 years or more.

Institutional quarantine of those immunized, who received full doses of one of the vaccines approved by the Ministry of Health, will be allowed to enter the Kingdom without the need for a quarantine period, provided they present an official vaccination certificate before and upon their arrival.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation obligated air carriers to contract with shelters and accommodation facilities approved by the Ministry of Tourism to accommodate travelers who are not Saudi citizens and excluded groups who meet the conditions of institutional quarantine for a period of seven days, provided that a swab is done on the sixth day and the result is negative.

It is decided that the Saudis will be allowed to travel outside the Kingdom, starting from May 17, after a long suspension imposed by the Corona prevention measures.
