Tweeters on the social networking site “Twitter” attacked the star of the Egyptian national team, Mohamed Salah, the English player, Liverpool, for what they described as his failure to support Jerusalem.

“Pride of the Arabs” is a nickname that football fans in Egypt and some Arab countries called Mohamed Salah after his brilliance with the Italian Roma and Liverpool clubs.

The tweeters considered that the real “pride of the Arabs” is the star of the Egyptian national team and former Al-Ahly player, Muhammad Abu Trika, because of his positions in solidarity with the Palestinian cause and his desperate defense of Gaza.Others saw the Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez, the Manchester City player, as the true “pride of the Arabs”, after a tweet in which he declared his support for Palestine and the Jerusalemites in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

Tweeters attributed the title “Pride of the Arabs” to Shikabala, the star of the Egyptian team, Zamalek, who supported the Palestinian people with a tweet in which he cited a Quranic verse, stressing that “they will leave and stay.”

Tweeters ridiculed Mohamed Salah and considered him a defender of animals and a failure to support Jerusalem. Some of them even saw that the popular artist “Hamo Beka” is the true pride of the Arabs after statements in which he supported the Jerusalemites.
