Zinedine Zidane regrets Ramos’ injury and Real Madrid enters the decisive Seville match in light of a large group of injuries.
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane expressed his regret for the renewed injury of Sergio Ramos, captain of the team, and spoke today, Saturday, at the press conference preceding the Seville match, which will be played tomorrow, Sunday, at 22:00 Jerusalem.
Zidane said at the press conference: “Unfortunately, the injury has returned to him, but what matters is that he improve. The rest of the matters will be settled, hoping that he will recover quickly. What matters now is the match and that he recover as soon as possible.”
Zidane made it clear that Ramos’ return in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Chelsea in London was not arbitrary, and that he was in all conditions that qualify him to play that match.
He also dropped out of the team’s list to face Seville, Frenchman Ferlan Mendy. Mendy’s absence comes in the absence of Danny Carvajal, Raphael Varane and Lucas Vasquez, injured.
Uruguayan Fede Valverde and Brazilian Vinicius made the list, although they did not train on Friday.
The list that the French coach Zinedine Zidane called up includes:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lonin and Diego Altopi.
Defense: Odriozola-Nacho-Marcelo-Miguel Guterres.
Middle: Casemiro – Kroos – Modric – Valverde – Antonio Blanco – Isco.
Attack: Hazard, Asensio, Vinicius, Rodrigo, Benzema, Mariano.
