Paris – German striker Julian Draxler has extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2024, refusing to leave as a free player, the capital club said in a statement.
“Drax” did not participate much with his compatriot, former coach Thomas Tuchel, but he regained his place with new coach Mauricio Pochettino on both sides of the attack. The Argentine appreciates Draxler’s efforts and his ability to occupy several positions up front.
This season, he has played 24 matches in the league (4 goals) and five in the Champions League. The 27-year-old joined the Qatari-owned team in 2017 after playing the colors of Schalke 04 and Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
Saint-Germain recently extended the contract of its Brazilian striker Neymar until 2025, the Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas until 2024 and the Argentine winger Angel Di Maria until 2022. The star of his attack remains young Kylian Mbappe, whose contract expires next season and is chased by the most prominent European clubs.
