Juventus’ sporting director Fabio Paratici discussed the club’s training situation and the fact that there were negotiations with Pep Guardiola or Antonio Conte to take over the position.
Rumors linked Pep and Conte to the position before Maurizio Sarri was appointed last season, and talks about the position have begun again in light of the unconvincing performance with Andrea Pirlo this year.
“The return of Conte? It is not true,” Paratici said with “Sky” before the Inter meeting. “Our first goal was Sari and we brought it.”
He added: “The same thing I will say about this myth about our contract with Pep Guardiola, which we can laugh at now.”
He continued: “Our first goal was Sarri, and we brought him and won the league title with him.”
Reports speak of the possibility of Pirlo being dismissed from his post by the end of the current season if he fails to reach the Champions League, as he is currently ranked fifth in the league.
Juventus plays Inter in the league on Saturday, and this week it is also in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta.
