Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said that his country did not close its borders during the Corona pandemic, in order to avoid the collapse of its economy.
“Belarus has not closed its borders at all since the beginning of the spread of the Corona virus. We have been criticized that we are hiding something, and that we provided wrong data, and what Besides… We chose our own way to fight the Corona virus, but we couldn’t close, because we are not Russia. It can shut down, the pipes are working, it has a huge wealth, huge reserves.”
He stressed that Belarus “chose not to close the borders, because the economy would have collapsed had it done so.”
