He advanced to fourth place in the Champions League qualification after winning 3-0 at Burnley on Wednesday to overtake Leicester City on goal difference before one game from the end of the season in the Premier League.

Roberto Firmino hit the net two minutes before the break and Nathaniel Phillips doubled the lead in the 52nd minute before Alex Oxlade Chamberlain scored an impressive goal as Liverpool scored their fourth successive victory.

With this victory, Liverpool raised its score to 66 points, ahead of Leicester City, fifth, on goal difference, while Chelsea are third with 67 points.

Burnley was the better side in the first half, but the visiting team took the lead after Firmino’s goal after wonderful work from Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson.

Phillips relieved Liverpool’s nerves with a neat header after Mane’s cross pass from the left, before substitute Oxlade-Chamberlain completed the hat-trick from a magnificent solo effort.

Jürgen Klopp’s side face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday, while Chelsea play host to Aston Villa and Leicester host Tottenham.

Champion and runner-up Manchester City, Manchester United have already qualified for the Champions League.
