Korea: $ 17 billion worth of information and communication products exported in April

Economic data released today showed that Korea’s exports of information and communication technology products increased by more than 30% over the past month, the highest rate of increase in 10 years, thanks to the recovery of global demand for chips and screens.
According to data from the South Korean Ministry of Science, Information Technology and Communications, the value of exports of information and communication technology products last April reached 17.06 billion dollars, an increase of 32.6% annually.
On the other hand, the value of imports of these products last month reached 10.78 billion dollars, an increase of 21.5% annually, so that the sector achieved a trade surplus of 6.29 billion dollars during the past month, according to what “German” reported on South Korean Yonhap.
By sector, last April exports of semiconductors increased by 29.4% annually to $ 9.4 billion, while exports of memory chips increased by 18.8% to $ 5.93 billion.
Monitor exports rose by 35.2% to $ 1.67 billion, and exports of cell phones and related spare parts nearly doubled, by 89.7% to $ 1.34 billion.
