Austrian defender David Alaba, who recently joined Real Madrid, commented on his move to the Spanish capital team, and indicated that this was a “dream that has come true”.
“For me personally, this is a dream that has come true. It’s something special,” the 28-year-old defender said in comments published by the newspaper “Kurier” during the Austria national team camp.
He added, “I have spoken with many clubs, but for me personally, Real Madrid is always at the top of the list. I knew from the beginning that when I left Bayern Munich I would go in that direction.”
It is noteworthy that Alaba has two titles in the European Champions League, 10 championships in the German League, two European Super Cup titles and the same in the Club World Cup.
On Friday, Real Madrid announced the signing of Alaba on a five-year contract.
Alaba moved to Real Madrid from Bayern on a free transfer, after the expiration of his contract with the “Bavarian” team.
Alaba left the German club after 10 years playing with him, joining him in 2011 from Hoffenheim.
