Only about 300 hours separate Saudis are allowed to travel outside the Kingdom after a forced halt due to the spread of the Coronavirus. On Monday, the fifth of the coming month of Shawwal, Saudis can travel to the destinations and countries they want, after the Civil Aviation Authority announced that all airports in the Kingdom were ready for the travel permit to take effect.

An official source in the Ministry of Interior confirmed in a statement that the decision was based on what was submitted by the competent health authorities in the Kingdom, as it was decided to adopt the effect of lifting the suspension of citizens’ travel outside the Kingdom, starting from 1:00 in the morning on (Monday) 5 Shawwal 1442 AH, corresponding to May 17, 2021 AD. The Ministry of Interior indicated that the groups permitted to travel abroad are the immunized citizens who received two full doses of the (Covid-19) vaccine, as well as those who received one dose, provided that 14 days have passed since they were vaccinated with the first dose, according to what appears in the application of “Tawakolna” and the citizens. Recovering from Coronavirus, provided that they have spent less than 6 months from being infected with the virus, according to what appears in the (Tawakolna) application, and citizens under the age of 18 years, provided that they present an insurance policy approved by the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia, covering The risks of (Covid-19) outside the Kingdom, according to the instructions announced by the concerned authorities. The Ministry of Interior stated that travelers will be subject to home quarantine after returning to the Kingdom for a period of 7 days, provided that a PCR examination will be performed at the end of the quarantine period, and persons under the age of 8 are excluded from the examination, and this category is modified according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health, confirming The necessity for everyone to adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures, and not to be complacent in applying health requirements, including social distancing, wearing masks, and continuously disinfecting hands.
