Liverpool lost 3-1 in the first leg against Real Madrid in Spain, and is now in an almost impossible position again in the knockout rounds, as happened the year before last against Barcelona.
Klopp and his team will try to draw inspiration from Liverpool’s uprising against Barcelona in the semifinals in 2019, when they won 4-0 to qualify with a 4-3 victory in the aggregate score.
In light of his late result and the absence of fans from the stadium to encourage him due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Klopp said that his team will create its own atmosphere as it seeks to compensate for its delay in front of Real Madrid, who is plagued by absenteeism, but on the condition that no more defensive mistakes are made.
Klopp told reporters: “When you are losing 3-1 it feels like you are already out of the tournament and that means we don’t have much to lose. The result showed that they are better than us, but it is only the first half. ”
The German coach added about the possibility of compensation for the loss: “Football is football, anything is possible. We talk about results, but performance is more important to me. We have to play at our level. ”
He continued: “It is important to defend at the highest level in light of the capabilities that Madrid possesses. Real Madrid defeated Barcelona (in the Spanish League) after defeating us, and therefore they are in a good period for sure.”

But Real Madrid faces difficulties due to injuries, and coach Zinedine Zidane’s team has suffered more injuries than any other team in the Spanish League this season.
Defenders Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Danny Carvajal, winger Lucas Vasquez and forward Eden Hazard will not be absent from the match, but Klopp said that would not be an obstacle for Zidane’s team, who plays with great motivation.
Klopp said: “Real Madrid did not win the championship much with Zidane; Because he has no experience. He went through a difficult season and injuries, and we are in a similar situation. We are now going through the decisive part of the season and I am 100 percent confident that Real Madrid will be ready, not as it was after the Barcelona match directly. ”
He added: “Watching Real Madrid play is not the same as facing them. The individual abilities of his players are really high when he desperately wants to achieve something, as was the case in the first leg. ”
