A team of scientists in Spain revealed that using a smartphone when you go to sleep increases the risk of colon and rectal cancer.
The scientists, who are from the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, confirmed, and according to their research data, that people who constantly use their smartphones when going to sleep are more likely to develop colon and intestinal cancer..with the blue light emitted from computer screens and those phones known to negatively affect them. Vision and on the eyes faster.
Scientists analyzed the data of 2000 people with the aim of studying the effects of this light on health, and found that people who are exposed to the effects of blue light, either through the use of smart phones or through computers, are at 60 percent more risk of colon cancer than people less exposed.
They explained that this light can reduce the production of melatonin in the body, which is called the “sleep hormone”, as its concentration increases in the body usually at night, which gives us a feeling of sleepiness and the desire for sound sleep, and that the decrease in its production in the body weakens the effect of stimulating sleep, Which leads to an imbalance in the biological clock, and all this has a very negative impact on the hormonal balance of a person, which scientists link to an increased risk of cancer through their assertion that the incidence of colon and rectal cancer is related to night work and disturbances of that hour.
In order to avoid the risks of developing these two types of cancer, the scientists advised the necessity of exercising for at least 30 minutes a day, maintaining a healthy weight, and focusing on eating the fibers found in vegetables and legumes, and they also warned against smoking, not to overconsumption of red meat, as well as avoiding sausages.
