The vaccination campaign is progressing internationally and Germany is concerned about the high rate of infection

Despite the progress of the vaccination campaign globally, the number of Coronavirus infections around the world has reached about 133 million, and the number of deaths is close to three million. In Germany, concerns about the high rate of infection continue, and they will discuss with Moscow the purchase of the Sputnik-V vaccine.

Data from Johns Hopkins University and the Bloomberg News Agency showed today, Thursday, that 15.4 million doses of Corona virus vaccines have been given in Germany so far. German Health Minister Jens Young announced that his country would start talks with Russia about a possible purchase of the “Sputnik-V” vaccine, if the European regulatory authority approved its use.

The minister told a local radio today, Thursday, “I explained in the name of Germany to the Council of Health Ministers in the European Union that we will hold bilateral talks with Russia, first to find out when and what quantities can be delivered,” in a decision taken after the European Commission decided not to negotiate in the name of the 27 member states about buying Sputnik-in.

As for the number of confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus in Germany, it has reached 2.94 million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University and Bloomberg. Today, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 20,407 new infections in the past 24 hours.

This number is about 4000 less than the number recorded last week for the number of cases in one day, and the incidence rate for seven days is declining to 105.7 from 110.1 the previous day per 100,000 people. The incidence rate in Thuringia during seven days was 181, which is a low figure compared to previous days. The rate of injuries was less than 100 in five German states, according to the Robert Koch Institute, while Schleswig-Holstein recorded the lowest infection rate, with the number 63.4.

However, the institute emphasized that the decrease in numbers could also be due to the fact that fewer people visited the doctor during the Easter holidays and thus fewer tests were conducted, while Markus Söder, the Bavarian State Minister, referred to the Easter holidays that school students took. This reduced the number of students infected with the infection during the past days.

The German institute stated in its report that 306 people have died within 24 hours due to the virus. According to the data, the number of deaths related to the Corona pandemic in Germany has reached 77,755. It has been nearly a year and ten weeks since the first case of Coronavirus was announced in Germany.

Vaccination is taking place globally

Today, Thursday, Reuters’s statistics showed that more than 132.74 million people have been infected with the emerging coronavirus worldwide, while the total number of deaths resulting from the virus has reached three million and 17,875. While the number of people recovered reached 75.5 million, and the total deaths increased to 2 million 888 thousand cases.

The United States leads the world in the number of doses administered, followed by China, India, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Turkey and Indonesia. The number of doses administered does not reflect the proportion of those vaccinated in the population, given the disparity of countries in terms of population.

According to a Reuters census, the United States, Brazil, India, France, Russia and Britain topped the countries in the world in terms of the number of injuries, respectively, and Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, the UAE and Saudi Arabia topped the number of injuries in the Arab countries.

It is noteworthy that the doses and numbers of people who are vaccinated are estimates, depending on the type of vaccine that the country gives, that is, whether it is from one or two doses.
