The Minister of Sports reveals the date of hosting Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium for matches


Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, visited Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah on Monday, to see the progress of the work carried out in the project of rehabilitation and development of the facility, before announcing the completion of its readiness to receive local and international football competitions, in the presence of Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, advisor Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Undersecretary of Jeddah Governorate.

During the visit, the Minister of Sports heard a detailed explanation of the improvements and reforms made by the implementing company, starting with the comprehensive changes made to the infrastructure, and the associated electricity and water supplies, through all the facilities of the sports facility, in addition to the restoration and rehabilitation of the entire facility, including It complies with the specifications and requirements of the FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal confirmed that Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium will be ready at the opening of the new season.

The maintenance and change work included the internal stadium facilities, changing the stadium soil and cultivating it completely with the latest methods and international standards adopted, and the capacity of the stadium seats was increased, to accommodate 27,000 seats, including the royal cabin, with 72 seats allocated to people of determination, in addition to engineering improvements. That affected the royal podium, with three floors complete with all its facilities.

In addition, two media centers were established, each with a capacity of 50 people, and a press conference room, with a capacity of 250 people at the same moment, equipped with the latest technology, as well as a special area for press interviews (Mix Zone), and two areas for television interviews (Flash Interview) ), 4 analytical studios, and 6 commentator rooms.

The amendments included the construction of dressing rooms for players of 4 rooms, in addition to the establishment of a new room for the rulers of “VAR” technology, in addition to equipping the stadium with 48 cabins for cameras, each cabin with a capacity of 6 cameras, as well as establishing medical clinics and rooms dedicated to the detection of doping.

Maintenance and development work also included the installation of 81 electronic gates distributed at the entrances to the stadium, in addition to parking lots outside the stadium, with an area of ​​122,000 square meters, which contributes to serving fans and facilitating their access to the stadium during matches.
