DUBAI (Reuters) – The military spokesman for the Yemeni Houthi movement said on Twitter that the group launched a drone attack on the Aramco facility in the city of Jizan in southwestern Saudi Arabia, and targeted the King Khalid Air Base with two drones.

Earlier on Friday, Saudi television said that the Riyadh-led coalition had intercepted two drones launched by the Houthis towards the southern region and the city of Khamis Mushait, which includes the air base.

The Saudi-led coalition intervened in Yemen against the Houthis in 2015. The movement has intensified its cross-border attacks on Saudi Arabia with drones and missiles.

The coalition says it has thwarted the majority of attacks.
