Today, Sunday, the decision to raise the wages of Saudi employees in the private sector to four thousand riyals has come into effect, to be calculated within the scope of settlement in the facility.

The decision issued nearly five months ago included not counting those whose salaries are less than 3000 riyals in the domains, and from their wages 3000 riyals and less than 4000 riyals are calculated for half a worker. The decision will be implemented five months after the date of its issuance on 11/18/2020. The specified period ends on Sunday.

And the General Authority for Statistics had revealed that the total number of workers in private and public sector establishments amounted to about 8.47 million employees by the end of the third quarter of 2019.

Foreigners in private and public sector establishments reached about 6.55 million workers, representing 77.4% of the total employed, while the number of Saudis reached about 1.91 million workers, representing 22.6%.

According to the data, most of the workers were concentrated in the private sector establishments, at a rate of 96.7% of the total employees, equivalent to 8.19 million workers, while their number in public sector establishments reached about 275.8 thousand workers, which represents 3.3% of the total.

By nationality, most of the Saudi workers were concentrated in private sector establishments, at a rate of 87.3%, equivalent to 1.67 million workers, while their number in the public sector reached about 242.8 thousand workers, representing 12.7%.

The largest percentage of foreign workers in private sector establishments was 99.5%, equivalent to 6.52 million workers, while a small percentage of them work in public sector establishments.

The facilities will be able to raise the percentage of domains if they add Saudis to the facility, and about 26 weeks pass. To ensure the regularity of payment, as well as the same period in the event of any Saudi exit from the facility, the Nitaqat percentage will be raised immediately for establishments that have continued in the green zone for a period of 13 consecutive weeks.
