Actress Noha Al-Amrousi confirmed that she is not behind the attempts to stop the series “Peacock”, which is shown daily in the current Ramadan season, indicating that she supports the work after the issuance of a decision by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation to investigate with his industry due to receiving complaints about the use of language that does not agree with the codes Issued by the board.
Al-Amrousi wrote, through her account on the “Facebook” site: “To prevent confusion … there are many people who believe that Mr. Tariq Al-Awadi and I are behind the attempts to stop the (Peacock) series, and this is not true at all.
She added, “We had all our objections to (propaganda) and the use of the image of my daughter (Nazli) on the series propaganda posters on some social media pages.”
She continued: “But we are with the freedom of creativity and our positions are constant, and we cannot seek to stop any artistic work. I respect my profession and my colleagues, their efforts and ideas, even if they disagree with them .. Support the Peacock series.”
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation decided, the day before yesterday, to investigate those responsible for the production of the series “The Peacock”, and the officials of the channels that broadcast it, after receiving numerous complaints about the use of language that does not agree with the codes issued by the Council, stressing the need to uphold values and not prejudice Egyptian families. Or demeaning it, or showing it offensively.
Lawyer Tariq Al-Awadi announced that he had submitted a report to the Attorney General demanding that the series “Peacock” be stopped, explaining that by using the picture of his client Nazli Mustafa Karim, daughter of the artist Noha Al-Amrousi, and using the “Vermont” case as a propaganda for the series, especially since the prosecution had warned against taking the case because it is still in The investigation stage.
Since August 5, 2020, the Public Prosecution office has been investigating the incident of some people sexually assaulting a girl inside the “Fairmont Nile City” hotel in Cairo in 2014, after receiving, on August 4, a letter from the National Council for Women accompanied by a complaint submitted by the victim and some information from some Witnesses about the incident.
