Two men died in Texas, in the United States, in a Tesla car accident, in which no one was most likely driving behind the wheel, the Wall Street Journal and KBRC 2 television reported on Sunday.

The two media outlets reported that the vehicle was traveling quickly when it collided with a tree on Saturday evening and burned.

The authorities found two bodies, one next to the driver’s seat and the second on the back seats.

“The preliminary elements of the investigation, which has not yet been completed, show that the car was traveling without a driver,” Mark Hermann, a Harris County police official, told the Wall Street Journal.

And according to Reuters, it was not known on Sunday whether the airbag in the driver’s seat had opened or whether the driving assistance system was in the operational position when the collision occurred.

“Tesla” warns on its website that the driving assistance systems in its vehicles do not make them completely autonomous, and therefore permanent human supervision of the vehicle’s path remains imperative.

However, many videos spread constantly on the Internet of Tesla cars with drivers sleeping while driving or raising their hands for a long time from the steering wheel.
