Locust swarms invade the Bekaa valley … Fearing a repetition of what happened in 1914 ?!

After the arrival of swarms of locusts to the outskirts of the Bekaa region, the environmental expert warned Kamil about the danger of these swarms to agricultural crops, calling for swift action to confront the locusts and the formation of an environmental committee to devise a comprehensive pre-emptive plan based on securing environmentally friendly pesticides. He said that the Lebanese market contains the most dangerous types of carcinogenic and polluting pesticides.
In an interview with Voice of All Lebanon, Kamel stressed the need to preemptively spray the area to which locusts may move in order to eliminate it immediately, otherwise the agricultural and forestry wealth will be in danger if locust swarms enter Lebanon, as was the case in 1914.
