The average price of the euro against the Egyptian pound continued to rise today, Tuesday, April 13, 2021, in banks, with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The average of the Egyptian currency stabilized against the dollar, the Saudi riyal and the Emirati dirham, while it retreated against the European euro and the pound sterling.
The price of the euro in Egypt
According to the “Al-Ain News” survey on the prices of the euro in 23 banks, the average price of the euro rose to about 18.57 pounds for purchase and 18.75 pounds for sale.
The average price of the European euro rose at the Egyptian Central Bank today, Tuesday, to about 18.62 pounds for purchase, and 18.74 pounds for sale, compared to about 18.60 pounds for purchase and 18.72 pounds for sale.
The highest price for the euro
The highest price for buying the euro against the pound came at about 18.60 pounds for purchase, and 18.76 pounds for sale, at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.
While the lowest price for buying the euro was in Misr Iran Development Bank, at about 18.51 pounds for purchase and 18.82 pounds for sale.
While the price of the euro in the National Bank of Egypt (the largest government bank) scored about 18.54 pounds for purchase, and 18.74 pounds for sale.
A railway line with Sudan
Kamel Al-Wazir, Egyptian Minister of Transport, affirmed his country’s readiness to meet Sudan’s needs in the field of transport in order to develop the sector between the two countries.

Dollar and sterling prices
The average price of the dollar in the Central Bank of Egypt remained constant today, Tuesday, at about 15.63 pounds for purchase and 15.73 for sale.
The average price of the pound sterling on the screens of the Central Bank of Egypt jumped to about 21.50 pounds for purchase and 21.64 pounds for sale, compared to about 21.43 pounds for purchase and 21.57 pounds for sale.
Real, dirham and dinar prices
The average price of the Saudi riyal was stabilized at the Central Bank of Egypt, about 4.17 pounds for purchase and 4.20 pounds for sale.
The average price of the Emirati dirham continued to stabilize at the Central Bank of Egypt, today, Tuesday, about 4.26 pounds for purchase, and 4.28 pounds for sale.
While the average price of the Kuwaiti dinar was recorded at the Central Bank, about 51.78 pounds for purchase, and 52.18 pounds for sale.
Inflation has stabilized in Egypt over the past month, with expectations of an increase during the holy month of Ramadan, which is accompanied by increased demand.
On Thursday, the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said that urban consumer price inflation stabilized at 4.5% year-on-year last March, the same rate recorded in the previous February.
According to Reuters, the rate of price inflation in March was about 0.6% compared to the previous month, up from about 0.2% in February.
Core inflation, which does not include highly volatile prices such as food prices, rose slightly to 3.7% year on year in March from 3.65% in the previous month.
