“Johnson & Johnson” postpones the launch of its vaccines in Europe

New York – AFP
Johnson & Johnson announced, Tuesday, that it will delay the launch of its vaccine against Covid-19 in Europe, after US authorities moved to suspend its use due to health concerns.
The US Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control recommended to “freeze” the use of the single-dose vaccine due to concerns about six reported cases of rare blood clots in the United States.
“We made a decision to pre-empt the launch of our vaccine in Europe,” Johnson & Johnson said. “We are working closely with health experts and health authorities, and we strongly support the open delivery of this information to health personnel and the public,” she added.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine was welcomed at its launch due to the fact that it can be administered with only one dose and stored at temperatures in a refrigerator.
