The Disciplinary Committee of the Egyptian Football Association imposed a ban on Imam Ashour, the Zamalek player, for a period of 12 matches and a fine of 200 thousand pounds, after the events of the Al-Ahly and Zamalek meeting in the Youth League.
The committee also punished 5 players from Zamalek club, with suspension for 8 matches and a fine of 100,000 pounds, on the background of “the widespread video incident of a number of Zamalek players within the team born in 1999,” namely Ahmed Eid, Saif Farouk Jaafar, Yahya Moftah, and Saifuddin Sayed, And Omar Yasser.
The Football Association also announced that it had received “Zamalek Club’s request to appeal, which suspends the implementation of the decision until it is considered, and states that the Appeal Committee has the right to adopt, amend or cancel the penalty.”
Al-Ahly club had formally filed a complaint with the Football Association and the Disciplinary Committee, against Imam Ashour, last Monday morning.
Al-Ahly attached to his complaint “flashes” that included five videos of the player Imam Ashour and his colleagues, who were insulting, insulting, and uttering the Al-Ahly club, its board of directors, its former president, the club entity and its fans, after the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the Youth League, which was held yesterday at Al-Ahly stadiums in the Nasr City branch.
In his official complaint against the Zamalek player and his colleagues, Al-Ahly demanded the application of the regulations and the provisions of the law that came in this section, in the interest of the competitive atmosphere and the relationship between the fans of the two clubs, especially since Imam Ashour was used to transgressing the rights of others in many incidents and was not deterred by previous penalties.
Ashour was previously punished by the Disciplinary Committee after the local super match last season, for 10 matches, in the famous argument between Al-Ahly and Zamalek players in the Emirates.
The committee also punished him again by suspending him for a match, after an altercation with Al-Masry goalkeeper Ahmed Masoud after the two teams met in the league last season.
