The US company Google has activated the chat feature in the e-mail service in personal accounts and has given all of its users the advantage of access to chat and rooms, according to gizchina.

And Google announced last year its intention to add the chat feature to “Gmail”; To make it easier for e-mail service users to communicate and collaborate on tasks with colleagues, and in August, the “chat” and “rooms” features became available to corporate users only.

According to the technical site, the company’s developers aim, behind the launch of the new feature, to convert Gmail into a “dedicated workspace” by integrating all the necessary tools into the service that allows the user to perform different tasks without having to constantly switch between tabs and different applications.

The “Gmail” application on Android phones will now contain four main sections, in addition to the “mail” and “meeting” sections, we will now have “chatting” and “rooms”.

Through the chat section, users, whether individuals or in small groups, will be able to exchange messages privately, while “rooms” will be devoted to wider communication operations, with the option to use public chat to send text messages and files.

The site explained that the way the new Gmail tools work is the same as those used in the Google Chat application, so it is possible to completely dispense with the use of a separate messaging application.

In addition, the internal search feature will not only search for data in emails but also search in chats as well, and Google has also made some small changes in the design of the UI controls.
