General / Minister of Education launches the new strategy and identity of the Saudi Electronic University, the Saudi Press Agency

His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, inaugurated the five-year strategy and the new identity of the Saudi Electronic University, and viewed a number of projects that will contribute to enhancing educational outcomes and achieving the Kingdom’s leadership in digital education and comprehensive national development.
This came during his visit today to the main headquarters of the university in the city of Riyadh, where he was received by the President of the Saudi Electronic University, Professor Dr. Lailak Al-Safadi.
His Excellency was also briefed on the path of the university’s achievements and efforts in higher education and digital learning over the past years through nine branches in the cities of the Kingdom, which is based on harnessing technology to provide high-quality and efficient education, and to transfer and localize innovation and knowledge in cooperation with universities, bodies and faculty members locally and internationally.
At the beginning of the visit, Dr. Al-Sheikh met with the university leaders, followed by watching a presentation of smart classes that allow the faculty member to provide interactive lectures to students directly in the nine branches, as this experience seeks to improve the educational process and expand in the regions of the Kingdom. Then the Minister of Education visited the learning management system follow-up room and was briefed on the progress of work.
His Excellency, accompanied by the President of the University, went to the place to launch the new identity and then see the strategic plan that extends to the year 2025, and seeks to achieve 7 main goals for the Kingdom’s vision, and 37 sub-goals in the three vision axes, and it is expected that it will contribute to achieving 9 goals of the Ministry of Education, and 11 goals. The Human Capacity Development Program, 4 goals for the National Digital Transformation Plan, and 9 sustainable development goals.
His Excellency the Minister of Education also inaugurated the Global Trends in E-Learning Exhibition, which is being held using virtual reality, augmented reality, simulation and “gyroscope” technologies.
On her part, Dr. Lailak Al-Safadi appreciated the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Education to the university, and said: “We are honored to visit His Excellency, through which he met with the university leaders, and viewed the university’s achievements and its initiatives in harnessing technology to enhance interaction and raise the efficiency and effectiveness of education.
She added, His Excellency also launched the exhibition of global trends in e-learning to be a platform for the transmission of developments in educational technologies, and within the visit schedule, he was briefed on the performance of higher education institutions in distance education, launched the university’s five-year strategic plan and inaugurated the new university identity.
And she continued in a press statement after the visit, “It is my pleasure, on behalf of all colleagues, to thank His Excellency for honoring us today, and without a doubt, the visit of His Excellency the Minister established a new and steady start for the university, and will contribute to raising the ceiling of ambition at the university, and an incentive to contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s leadership in digital education.” And comprehensive national development; through empowering human capital and improving educational outcomes.
Al-Safadi concluded her statement that the achievement in the near future will be based on ambition and confidence, and in line with the goals of the great vision announced and launched by His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince – may God protect him.
