French President Emmanuel Macron promised free psychological counseling for children and adolescents who suffer from mental health problems that accompanied the Corona pandemic.
And the French presidency announced that the plan will continue as long as the health crisis continues.
Macron announced the extra help after meeting doctors and families at the Child Psychiatry Unit.
He said that school closures due to the pandemic and the suspension of activities outside schools “has a very difficult impact on our youth and our youth.”
Children from 3 to 17 years old will be offered ten free sessions with a psychiatrist.
Psychiatrists say that the deaths of loved ones and close people due to Corona and the repeated obstacles to life, study and uncertainty about the future all have devastating effects on the mental health of alarmingly large numbers of children and adolescents.
Doctors recorded high rates of psychological emergencies that include the young and the youth, including suicide attempts, self-harm, panic attacks and other symptoms of psychological distress.
