The European Medicines Control Agency announced that there is no clear link between vaccination with the “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine against Corona and blood clots in some recipients in the United States.
The authority said in a statement, that it “understands the decision of its American counterpart to stop using the vaccine developed by” Johnson & Johnson “due to rare cases of blood clots.
She added that “it is not clear that there is a link between the vaccine and accidents,” noting that “its safety committee continues to review the reports that were announced last week in this regard.”
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced in a tweet via “Twitter” that it and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a joint statement about the “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine, recommending to suspend its use for “precautionary considerations.”
For its part, the New York Times reported, quoting US officials, that cases of blood clots after vaccination with this vaccine were detected in six women between the ages of 18 and 48, and one of them died, while another injured woman was hospitalized and her condition is critical.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that about 7 million Americans have received the “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine so far.
