Brest surprised his host Saint-Etienne and beat them 2-1, today, Saturday, in the 34th stage of the French Football League, to come close to ensuring that they stay in the warm region.

This is only the third victory for Brest in the second leg, and the first since March 3 against Dijon (3-1).Brest climbed to the thirteenth place with 40 points, one point behind Saint-Etienne the fourteenth, who stands 8 points away, from the 18th Nimes and the holder of the place that entitles him to play a supplement to stay at the end of the season.

The green team started the match well, opening the scoring by Tunisian Wehbe Al-Khazri (11), scoring his seventh goal with Saint-Etienne this season and the sixth in the last seven stages.

Instead of deepening the difference by three chances, Saint-Etienne and his young goalkeeper Etienne Green (20 years) bowed first from a free kick to veteran striker Gaitan Charbonnier (66), before the player himself added the winning goal and his sixth this season (79).

He will later play Paris Saint-Germain II, the defending champion, with his ninth host Metz, looking to climb the lead temporarily, before the summit of leaders Lille and host Lyon IV on Sunday.
