British media reported, Tuesday, that the European Football Association (UEFA) has decided to increase the size of the lists of national teams in the European Championship “Euro 2020” postponed to this year, from 23 to 26 players.

The regulations will change in order to reduce the burden on players, after the launch of the 2020-2021 season was delayed last year due to the “Covid 19” pandemic.

The season was also shortened to end in May, ahead of the “Euro 2020” tournament, which will be held from June 11 to July 11.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) said, on Monday, that the decision was taken by the UEFA National Teams Committee on Monday, and it is expected that the Executive Committee will ratify it later this week.

And last month, Italy coach Roberto Mancini said he supports the proposal to increase the size of the lists due to the risks of players contracting the Corona virus, and the difficulty of replacing them during the European Championship 2020.

UEFA confirmed last month that teams would be allowed to make five changes in every match in the European Championship.
