Barcelona topped the list of the most valuable football clubs in the world, for the first time in its history, beating rivals Real Madrid, according to the report published by Forbes magazine yesterday.

Over the past 16 years, Real Madrid and Manchester United have monopolized the first place, with Real Madrid topping the list 5 times, compared to 11 times for United.

The report revealed that the average value of the top 20 clubs increased by 30 percent compared to estimates two years ago to $ 2.28 billion, despite the repercussions of the Corona virus pandemic on matchday revenues.

He pointed out that match revenues fell to 441 million dollars, indicating a 9.6 percent decline compared to the levels recorded in the 2017-2018 season.

The list saw Paris Saint-Germain join the top 10 most expensive clubs for the first time, as it ranked ninth with a value of $ 2.5 billion, an increase of 129 percent over two years, the largest increase among the top ten clubs.
