The Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, Walid al-Bukhari, said that an attempt was made to smuggle 600 million pills of narcotic substances coming from Lebanon during the last six years.

In his tweet on “Twitter”, Sunday April 25, Al-Bukhari indicated that the total of drugs seized in Saudi Arabia from Lebanon amounted to more than 600 million narcotic pills, in addition to hundreds of kilograms of hashish during the past six years.

He added that the quantity smuggled from Lebanon is sufficient to flood the Arab world with drugs and psychotropic substances, not only Saudi Arabia, pointing out that their smuggling does not target only Saudi Arabia, but all parts of the Arab world.

Al-Bukhari expressed his thanks to the Lebanese Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rai for his reprehensible stance targeting Saudi Arabia through drug smuggling.

On Friday, April 23, Saudi Customs announced that it had thwarted the smuggling of 5.3 million Captagon pills, hidden in a shipment of pomegranate fruit coming from Lebanon.

And Saudi Arabia issued Decision It decides to prevent the entry of consignments of Lebanese fruits and vegetables, or to allow them to cross within their territories, as of next Sunday, April 25.

Saudi Arabia attributed its decision to the increasing targeting of its lands by drug smugglers coming from Lebanon or passing through its territory on the one hand, and to the failure to take practical measures to stop these practices on the other hand.

The spokesman for the General Directorate for Narcotics Control in Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Al-Najidi, stated that the percentage of seizures hidden in vegetables and fruits imported from Lebanon amounted to 75% of the total seizures, according to what was reported by the newspaper.Okaz” Saudi.

Al-Nujaidi added that the General Directorate for Narcotics Control had succeeded in detecting several smuggling operations coming from Lebanon inside shipments of vegetables and fruits.

Among the most prominent of those operations is the seizure of more than 20 million “amphetamine” tablets hidden inside a shipment of grapes, the second in an apple shipment amounting to more than four million “amphetamine” tablets, and another in a shipment of tires coming from Lebanon through the “Jeddah Islamic” port amounting to 11 million tablets. “Amphetamine” is a drug.
