The US stock market index, “Standard & Poor’s 500”, rose during trading on Thursday, to a record high.
The rise was supported by gains in technology stocks, a day after the US Federal Reserve renewed its pledge to keep interest rates low until the economic recovery takes hold.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 7 percent to open at 33,469.89 points, and the Standard & Poor’s advanced 0.25 percent to 4,089.95 points.
While the “Nasdaq” index increased 0.79 percent to 13,796,892 points, according to US stock market data.
