TicWris launched its new GTX smartwatch, which features a 1.91-inch curved screen with a resolution of 170 x 320 pixels, with support for touch use.
The Chinese company explained that the GTX watch, made of metal and plastic, has a good level of protection from dust and water, according to IP68.
The watch is equipped with a 300 mAh battery, which is supposed to last for a month, and the watch also offers permanent heart rate recording features, in addition to a step counter.
The watch can display smartphone notifications, running iOS or Android, with the ability to control music and camera playback.
The growth of the smart watch market
The demand for smart watches and health bracelets has grown since the emergence of the Covid pandemic at the end of 2019, to increase attention and follow-up on the health status.
The company, IDC, specializing in statistics and studies, issued early last March, revealed the big control of the “Apple” company over the smart watch market at the end of last year, as it managed to acquire 36.2% of the watch market share in the last quarter of 2020.
Xiaomi acquired 8.8% of the market share, followed by Samsung only 8.5% and Huawei 6.7%, followed by BoAt 3.5% and other companies 36.4% during the fourth quarter of 2020.
These figures come after the growth in smart watch sales by about 27% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, and Apple’s sales growth contributed about 45% to this big increase, as the company sold about 55.6 million smart watches, while it sold “Xiaomi” has about 13.5 million smart watches, and “Samsung” about 13 million hours only, which is a decline for the Korean company.
In terms of corporate performance, in 2020, 444.7 million watches and smart bracelets were shipped, compared to 346.4 million in 2019, with a growth of 28.4%.
