It seems that the singer “Prince” has not finished all his musical productions despite the passage of 5 years since his death.
On Thursday, Sony’s Legacy Records production company announced the release of a previously unpublished album by the American artist on July 30, titled “Welcome to America.”
Streaming platforms will be broadcasting the song titled the album starting Thursday.
The singer recorded this album in 2010 in his studio in his famous luxury house in Paisley Park, which contains a large number of unknown recordings of Prince, including live songs, demos and incomplete albums.
Prince, who died on April 21, 2016 at the age of 57, managed to preserve the mystery of his hidden artistic “treasures”, especially through his statements to journalists.
He told Rolling Stone magazine in 2014: “I did not always give my best song to production companies, there are songs that no one has heard and many things I recorded during different periods.”
The American “CBS” channel dedicates an exclusive episode of its program “60 Minutes”, Sunday, to the 12 songs from the album “Welcome to America” after having listened to all of them.
Legacy Records will release a compilation of the album and an entire, previously unseen gig, that Prince performed with his hit band “New Power Generation” in Los Angeles on April 28, 2011.
