Tunisian artist Zafer El Abidine announced his entry into the world of directing through the feature film “Ghadwa”, in a press conference held the day before yesterday at the 32BIS Contemporary Arts Center in the Tunisian capital. He also announced that the film will be starring and producing it through his company DOUBLE A in association with Nomades Image and MAD Solutions.
Zafer Al-Abidine commented, “Directing has always been a dream, but I was waiting for the appropriate project.” Melt is a story very close to my heart, and I feel it very strongly. It is a Tunisian story, but the social and human aspects it entails will make many people interact with it. The Tunisian actor expressed his enthusiasm for producing this film and performing one of his roles, in addition to writing the script with the Egyptian filmmaker Ahmed Amer. Zafer Al-Abidin thanked the sponsors of his film project, expressing his pride in cooperating with producer Dora Bou Shousha, with whom he has a long working and friendship relationship, as well as MAD Solutions.
As for the producer, Dora Bou Shousha, founder of the Nomadis Image Company, she said: “The script for the Ghadwa film attracted me, although I usually choose my projects on the basis of the idea before I start writing the script and implementing the film. For many years, I am happy with our cooperation on the film “Ghadwa”.
Alaa Karkouti and Maher Diab, co-founders of MAD Solutions, said in the same context: “We believe that it will be a distinct and unique work, because its essence is passion.
The events of the movie begin when Habib and his son Ahmed reunite due to the father’s deteriorating health. Between the ringing of the deadline bells and sudden events that ignite tension, the father and son swap their seats, falling into a situation for which they were not prepared.
Zafer Al-Abidin stars in the movie starring Najla bin Abdullah, Al-Bahri Al-Rahali, Ghanem Al-Zerli, Rabab Al-Sarairi, and Ahmed Barhoumi, while the following entities sponsor the film, the Sabreen Mineral Water Company, the Fatals cosmetics store chain, and the JAC Automobile Group.
